Client Infrastructure Upgrade

Our client is a leading plant hire and civil engineering company with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. The business has grown rapidly in the last five years, with an increased need to streamline and integrate all IT systems.

Initial Engagement


The client approached Pickl in 2020, searching for an Outsourced Managed Service Provider who could review all current IT infrastructure. The engagement started with a

detailed onboarding process where the team worked with the client to understand the short and long term goals of the organisation to formulate an IT strategy.

In addition to implementing a managed service desk, Pickl identified several IT projects that could improve the operational efficiency of the business. Pickl formulated an IT strategy by identifying key strategic initiatives and outlining these initiatives in a formal roadmap, along with indicative budgeting based on client requirements and ticketing trends.

One particular project requiring urgent attention was the client’s ageing infrastructure; many legacy-based servers needed replacing to improve the experience for users on a daily basis.

The team completed the below projects:

  • Implementation of new servers including SQL database applications
  • Formulation of a suitable backup solution utilising the existing hardware
  • Implementation of a new wi-fi solution
  • Re-location of the server rack and cabinet tidy

The project was a resounding success, dramatically improving user experience and more importantly uptime and productivity.
